Chinese Club
In Term 1, the Chinese Club was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore Chinese culture outside of the classroom. Held every Tuesday lunchtime, the club welcomed enthusiastic participants from Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and some new Year 6 students.
Throughout the term, students participated in a variety of fun and meaningful activities. They explored Chinese calligraphy, practicing on both water ink paper and traditional rice paper with real ink, which helped them appreciate the art of Chinese writing.
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, students received red envelopes and solved Chinese riddles, adding to the festive atmosphere. They also made colourful lanterns, worked on tangram puzzles, and learned a Chinese poem, developing both language skills and cultural awareness. The Chinese Club has provided a space for students to experience Chinese traditions in a fun and engaging way.
With over 30 students enrolled and an impressive attendance rate of over 80% each session, we have had a fantastic start to the Year of the Snake.
